The Position

NAIAD seeks a Director of Business Development for its project consulting portfolio. This is a new role within the organization, created to lead NAIAD’s expansion strategy of our project and management consulting services, and reporting direclty to the CEO. The position is based in Calgary but open to tele-commuting.

The Mandate

Make NAIAD widely successful with O&G producers, by securing high value project management assignments on large-scale capex and opex projects, in Canada and abroad. Then, build on that success to expand into the industrial, manufacturing, mining and infrastructure sectors.

The successful individual must have demonstrated experience in successfully selling high-value service contracts at the executive level, in the areas of EP, EPC, EPCM or corporate-wide IT systems, preferably in the Oil and Gas, Manufacturing and Industrial sectors. The position is available on a part-time basis. Retired and nearly-retired individuals are encouraged to consider the opportunity.

Selection criteria

  • Demonstrable track record selling at the senior management and executive levels (4 years min).
  • Familiarity with multi-million dollar service contracts, and $100M + project budgets.
  • Provable client portfolio nurtured individually.
  • Flawless spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Grey hair is an asset.
  • Motivated by a no-ceiling compensation structure.

This is a growth position with a five to ten year window. The candidate will be expected to work autonomously; possess a deep knowledge of high value-added selling; thrive under the pressure of expectations; and be interested in building the BD group from the ground up. The position is not characteristic of account management.
